The Tavistock Trash Pandas have etched their name further into Ontario Rugby League history, successfully defending their Men’s Premiership title with a convincing 38-16 victory over the Brampton Beavers in last weekend’s Grand Final.

This triumph marks an extraordinary achievement for the Trash Pandas, securing their second consecutive premiership in just their second season of competition. Even more remarkably, the club maintains a perfect, undefeated record, a rare feat in any sport.

Played in Stratford, Ontario, the opening exchanges of the Grand Final were fiercely contested with the Trash Pandas holding a slender six-point advantage after 35 minutes before the reigning champions demonstrated their class and composure with a decisive burst either side of halftime to race out to a 26 – 10 lead in just the 45th minute.

Shellshocked from the Trash Panda onslaught, the Beavers were unable to chase down the Tavistock squad.

The Trash Pandas’ journey to the Grand Final was paved with a dominant 74-0 victory over competition newcomers, the Royal City Goons, in a one-sided Semi Final. Meanwhile, the Brampton Beavers secured their spot in a thrilling encounter, snatching a dramatic 38-36 victory over the Brantford Broncos in the dying moments of their Semi Final clash.

In other weekend action, the Brantford Broncos bounced back to claim the Bronze Medal with a hard-fought 34-30 win against the Royal City Goons. Earlier in the day, the Durham Dawgz triumphed over the Toronto City Saints in the fifth-place playoff.
