The USA Rugby League national premiership will see Southern Florida represented by two teams again in 2025, with the addition of the Miami Shoremen.
Representing Florida’s most populous city, the Shoremen join fellow Floridian clubs Jacksonville, Southwest Florida, and Tampa in the national competition. The Miami Shoremen are an initiative of the South Florida Speed, a club with prior experience in the regional league in 2021 and 202
Their inclusion in the 2025 premiership comes as the Atlanta Rhinos’ participation remains uncertain, although the Rhinos did compete in the Vegas Nines earlier this year.
The Florida Rugby League season is set to be contested over six rounds from late May to mid-July. The regional finals will take place on July 26, culminating in the eastern championship on August 9. This championship match will see the Florida league winner face off against the victor of the north-east’s Rugby League United competition.
The Southwest Florida Copperheads are the reigning Florida champions in 2024, defeated the Jacksonville Axemen 30-18.
