The Canada Ravens will have home ground advantage as they look to qualify for their third consecutive Women’s World Cup after being announced as hosts for the 2025 Women’s World Series.
The World Series is a new International Rugby League qualification tournament added to determine the final qualification spot for the 2026 tournament.
The inaugural Women’s World Series will feature Ireland (Europe), Nigeria (Middle East-Africa), Fiji (Asia-Pacific) and hosts Canada (Americas), with only the top team to qualify for the 8th and final spot at next year’s World Cup.
The Women’s World Series will be played as a knock-out event, with Canada to face Fiji in one semi-final and Ireland to face Nigeria in the other.
Both Semi Finals will be played at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton on October 21, with the tournament final will take place at the iconic Lamport Stadium, Toronto on October 26.
Lamport Stadium in Toronto has a long history with Rugby League, with the venue being the home of former Super League side, the Toronto Wolfpack and also the primary host venue of the Canadian Wolverines providing a fitting stage for this momentous occasion.
The Canada Ravens are currently on a four test winning streak and come into the tournament as the second seeded team, just behind Ireland. The Ravens played Ireland in a Test leading into the 2022 RLWC, going down 8 – 6 in a tight match in Wigan.
