Defending premiers, the Tavistock Trash Pandas, have laid down another emphatic marker in their Ontario Rugby League title defence, steamrolling foundation club the Toronto City Saints with a resounding 90 – 4 victory at Waterford High School on Sunday.
The Trash Pandas showcased their formidable attacking prowess, running in a staggering 16 tries to the Saints’ one try, with fullback Jordan Ng collecting a hat trick, whilst captain Nathan Roberts had a field day with the boot, kicking 11 goals to amass a personal tally of 22 points.
This dominant performance follows their impressive opening round win, leaving Tavistock with a perfect 2-0 record, having racked up 134 points whilst only conceding only 14 in their first two outings.
Meanwhile, the Ontario Rugby League continues to deliver exciting contests across the board. In other matches, newcomers the Royal City Goons secured their second win from as many outings with a hard-fought 38 – 28 victory over fellow debutants, the Durham Dawgz.
The Brampton Beavers also bounced back strongly from their round one defeat at the hands of the Trash Pandas, securing a comfortable 38 – 6 win over the Brantford Broncos.
