The 2025 Rugby League Jamaica Intercollegiate Championship commenced this weekend, featuring five universities and colleges from across the nation. The opening round of matches, played at the Jamaica University of Technology (UTECH) grounds.
Host team, the UTECH Knights, battled out a hard-fought 28-28 draw against the UWI Pelicans in a tightly contested match, whilst earlier in the day, the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) Spartans proved too strong for the Excelsior Community College Eagles, securing a decisive victory.
The Mico University College Crocs had a bye in this opening round.
The 2025 season marks the 15th edition of the Intercollegiate Rugby League Championship, promising another year of competitive rugby league in Jamaica.
